As Blackjack is a game of choice, the advantage of the house edge can be reduced to 0.50 %. A lot of players believe that winning Blackjack strategies are the only method of winning this game. Unfortunately that is untrue. Winning blackjack strategies are not based on mathematical calculations and probability.

During many years different scientist tried to open the essence of Blackjack with the help of using calculations and mathematics.

Basic Blackjack strategy

In 1962 E. Thorp came up with basic Blackjack strategy. This strategy could not beat the casino but it was possible to lower the edge to 0.50% per session and give the player more leverage in the game. Thorp's strategy prompts the player when to hit or stand on a particular hand, splitting or doubling down. This strategy based on the visible cards of the dealer and point total of the player.

The dealer must stick to the rules of the game and stand on 17 or above, he cannot split or double down, he gets 1 to 1 for Blackjack while the player gets 3 to 2 for Blackjack.

If the dealer's face-up card is one of 3, 4, 5 or 6, he has a 35% chance to bust. The player should take another card if the dealer has Ace or 7, 8, 9, 10 because it is quite possible that the dealer has a 10 and the player will lose.

General Blackjack strategy

• One should stand on 17 or above during the game
• One should hit on 12-16 if the dealer has 7or higher
• One should hit on 8 and less

Doubling Down strategy

• The gambler doubles down 11, except when the dealer has ace
• The gambler doubles down 10 if the dealer has 9 or lower
• The player should double own 9 if the dealer has 6 or lower

Splitting strategy

• It is necessary to slit 8's and aces
• It is forbidden to split 5's and 10-face cards
• If the dealer has 4, 5, 6, or 7 the player should split 2's and 3's.
